Add the GovCon MCP to Claude Code from your terminal, sign in with your G2X account and choose hosted or local research tools.
Claude Code is an AI coding agent for your terminal. Add G2X with:
claude mcp add --transport http govcon https://mcp.g2x.com/mcpIn Claude Code, type /mcp, choose govcon and sign in with your G2X account in your browser. Use the server URL above, not the /mcp documentation page. Do not paste tokens or credentials into a conversation.
These command and sign-in steps follow the Claude Code MCP guide and the shared G2X client setup instructions. An administrator may restrict which MCP servers your workspace permits.
The hosted connection supports research and the account actions your G2X permissions allow. Ask the agent to discover its available tools before relying on a particular action. Review any proposed account change before authorizing it.
For a research-only hosted connection, add the research endpoint instead:
claude mcp add --transport http govcon-research https://mcp.g2x.com/mcp/researchOpen /mcp, choose govcon-research and complete G2X sign-in. This profile leaves out account-changing tools; it does not grant additional access to data.
The GovCon CLI coding-agents guide explains govcon mcp add claude and the local research server that uses your CLI sign-in. Choose that guide if you want the coding agent to start the local server, rather than connecting directly to the hosted endpoint above.
Ask: “Find opportunities that fit my company's profile and include links to the source records.” Check the returned records and solicitation documents before using the answer for a contracting decision. This is an example prompt, not a captured result.
