Top 10 Federal Contract Opportunities: October 7, 2026
The top 10 federal contract opportunities the G2X community researched most over the last 24 hours.
Explore the top 10 federal contract opportunities in yesterday’s G2X community research. Tobacco-product data, air-operations software and Army air-defense support are among the requirements drawing attention. The roundup explains what each buyer is seeking and where the work stands in the acquisition process.
1. FDA: Data Stream for tobacco-product review
FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products is gathering information on a product-centered approach to submission data. The work begins with an inventory of existing assets and an assessment of how submissions, amendments and product changes connect across systems. It also calls for a product lifecycle model, AI-assisted metadata tagging and prototype capabilities that let reviewers navigate information while tracing outputs to source documents.
The optional proof-of-concept task would demonstrate capabilities and prepare materials for a government workflow team to use later. FDA is conducting market research, not requesting priced proposals. Solicitation number FDA-RFI-27-1251190 accepts responses through October 19.

2. Kessel Run: Revolutionary Air Operations Center
Kessel Run is seeking industry input on the platform, infrastructure and application-integration strategy for the Revolutionary Air Operations Center weapon system. The environment combines hardware, software, third-party applications and web services that must remain available in contested operating conditions. Government and commercial off-the-shelf components are central to the integration approach.
This sources-sought request concerns how that mixed environment can be maintained, upgraded and secured while remaining interoperable with other defense systems. Kessel Run requests a white paper limited to eight pages, including figures, tables and charts. Responses to solicitation number FA8730-REV-AOC are due October 14.

3. Army PM SHIELD: Avenger weapon-system support
The Army’s Short and Intermediate Effectors for Layered Defense project office is researching engineering and technical support for Avenger, its mobile short-range air-defense system. The scope spans engineering, testing and failure analysis, logistics, repairs, field-service support, training and deployment. It also includes configuration management, cybersecurity, communications security and safe operation of the systems and sites.
Army Contracting Command–Redstone asks respondents to explain relevant experience, staffing, simultaneous deployments, subcontracting and financial capability. Contractor personnel must maintain Secret clearances, while RFI responses must be unclassified. Solicitation number W31P4Q-27-RFI0002_AVENGER has an October 26 response deadline; it is market research, not an award solicitation.

4. Indian Health Service: Influenza-like illness surveillance
The Indian Health Service is accepting quotes to assess and modernize its Influenza-like Illness Awareness System. The work covers daily surveillance files from IHS, Tribal and Urban facilities, an enhanced data repository, validated processing methods and automated reports for national, Area and facility users. Monitoring must identify missing files and incomplete participation.
The handoff is a substantial part of the requirement: IHS must receive usable code, configurations, data models and operating documentation so it or a successor can manage the system independently. This is a 100% Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise set-aside. Quotes under solicitation number 75H70427Q00001 are due October 8; substantive performance must finish by July 31, 2027.

5. FirstNet Authority: AI-enabled mission-support platform
FirstNet Authority is researching an AI-enabled cloud product for its finance, human-resources, IT and acquisition offices. The scope builds on its financial-management environment and extends to governed reporting, workforce planning, Technology Business Management, acquisition workflows and reconciliation of network-program obligations and payments. Interfaces include PRISM, Oracle EBS and SharePoint.
The request sets FedRAMP Moderate as the minimum security baseline and asks vendors to disclose their authorization status and any remaining timeline. Responses must address implementation, transition, ongoing support and comparable federal experience. This is market research for enterprise mission support, rather than a public-safety network deployment. Solicitation number FNA-OCPO-64962 accepts responses through October 16.

6. Army MEDED: Continuing medical education reaccreditation
The Army Surgeon General’s Medical Education Directorate seeks advisory and document-preparation support for Army Medical Command’s continuing medical education program. Its objective is a six-year reaccreditation, with work leading into the 2027 accreditation interview. The contractor would conduct a virtual compliance audit, prepare the self-study and supporting evidence, and assemble 15 selected performance-in-practice files.
The requirement also includes a mock survey, interview materials and technical support during the review. MEDED retains responsibility for submitting finalized materials to the accreditor. Relevant federal and defense CME experience is part of the personnel requirement. Responses to sources-sought solicitation number PANHCA-26-P-0000-034203 are due October 12.

7. DARPA IPTO: Office-wide research announcement
DARPA’s Information Processing Techniques Office is accepting revolutionary research ideas outside its existing programs and other published solicitations. Rather than defining a standard product purchase, this office-wide announcement asks teams to explain a distinct technical objective, the limits of current practice and how a novel approach would address a mission need.
Proposals must translate that idea into tasks, measurable milestones, a schedule, team responsibilities and a supported cost estimate. Applicants begin with an abstract. That review examines originality, mission understanding and operational realism; generic research descriptions do not satisfy that screen. Solicitation number HR001126S0011 remains open through June 22, 2027. Teams should compare their concepts with IPTO’s active programs before using this route.

8. USPS OIG: Fiscal 2027 professional-support announcement
The U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General is accepting rolling proposals for defined professional, consulting and support roles. The current schedule includes workers’ compensation surveillance and part-time mail-theft and mail-flow training. Assignments depend on operational needs and funding, with work possible at headquarters or field offices.
The surveillance role is evidence gathering, not claims management or independent law enforcement. Contractors must follow case-agent direction and documentation requirements; they do not gain arrest powers or authority to act as OIG agents. Solicitation number 6HQOIG-27-A-0001 runs through September 30, 2027, unless replaced earlier. Previously accepted or pending proposals for the same role need not be resubmitted.

9. DISA: Combined Special Operations Group office expansion
DISA is seeking small-business proposals to renovate and expand office space for the Combined Special Operations Group. The project joins an existing 4,700-square-foot area with neighboring space to create approximately 8,150 square feet. Work includes furniture, partitions, flooring, electrical changes, HVAC modifications and communications cabling.
The clarified network scope calls for 64 new Cat6A cables across 32 locations. Design submissions must address the selected furniture system, wall performance, finishes and verified site conditions. DISA’s IT Contracting Division lists an October 8 site visit and an October 9 proposal deadline under solicitation number HC102826R0058.

10. Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex: Furnace interface upgrade
Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex is seeking an upgrade to a vacuum-furnace interface at Tinker Air Force Base. The work combines Wonderware licensing, software installation and configuration with on-site integration and acceptance testing. The computer remains standalone and does not require a connection to the complex’s network.
The amended requirement allows technician qualifications to be demonstrated through training, credentials and experience, rather than one specified manufacturer certification. Offerors must document the technical provider’s capabilities and recent references, alongside the required safety and shop controls. Quotes under solicitation number FA813226Q0058 are due October 13, using the revised work statement and October 5 amendment.
