The G2X Research Team
Check your SAM registration before the bid becomes urgent
Use G2X company research and the official SAM.gov record to confirm the bidding entity, registration status and work still needed before a federal offer.
To check whether your company is ready for a federal bid, identify the legal entity that will submit the offer, confirm its current registration in SAM.gov, and read the solicitation's registration and certification requirements. Use G2X company research to establish the company context and keep the follow-up organized. The official SAM record and the issued requirement supply the evidence for the decision.
This is useful work before a proposal becomes urgent. A proposal coordinator may need an authorized officer to confirm the bidding entity, an administrator to finish a renewal, or someone to resolve a validation issue. Finding that dependency early gives the owner time to act and the capture team a realistic view of readiness.
Start with the entity that will make the offer
Open the company in the G2X GovCon Directory. Search by company name or Unique Entity ID, known as a UEI, and check the legal name and identifier on the profile. Where a business has affiliates or a joint venture, establish which entity is actually being considered for the offer. Another company's registration does not answer that question.
Compare that identity with the current official SAM.gov information and the company's authorized internal records. Keep the source link and the date checked. A capability statement can be useful background, but its printed identifier is not a current status check.
The distinction between having a UEI and having a registration matters. SAM.gov's registration guidance explains that an entity can obtain a UEI without completing a registration. Direct federal prime awards require registration. The same guidance says registration must be renewed every 365 days to remain active and can take up to 10 business days to become active. Treat that timing as planning guidance, rather than a promised activation date for a particular company.
Read what this solicitation requires
Once you have an opportunity in view, use G2X federal opportunity research to find its notice and inspect the requirement package. Follow the original SAM.gov record, including its amendments, for the operative instructions. Check what the offeror must supply, the relevant submission or award milestone, and who in your business can confirm the information.
For a recent example, DHA's IRMAC services solicitation, HT941026R2001, required the offeror to be registered in SAM under NAICS 561110, have no active exclusions, and address the currency of its representations and certifications. The current Amendment 8 package retains a September 30, 2026 offer deadline, which has passed. It illustrates why the team must read the actual administrative instructions; it is not an invitation to submit a new offer.
Separate the questions you can verify publicly from the work that belongs to an authorized company administrator. A public company profile helps you match the entity. It cannot complete a renewal, resolve an internal data problem or confirm that every required representation is accurate. If a check remains unresolved, give it an owner and a date instead of recording the company as ready.
Turn the check into a useful next action
In the free G2X CRM, keep the relevant account, source links and the next action for the person responsible. A useful note identifies the bidding entity, the registration state observed, the solicitation requirement that matters and the outstanding dependency. Recheck time-sensitive information when the offer is being prepared.
You can do the research manually with Community Edition and the free official SAM.gov resources. The SAM registration checklist helps an administrator prepare the information needed. SAM.gov also links to the Federal Service Desk for registration problems and APEX Accelerators for government contracting assistance.
If you have G2X Lumen access, upload the permitted solicitation and relevant public identity or status evidence to help assess fit, identify gaps and plan the administrative response. Ask it to cite the requirement behind each proposed action and distinguish a verified status from an unanswered question. Review the result with the person authorized to speak for the company. The Lumen question guide explains the document workflow, and current plans explain access.
The next bid meeting can then deal with a concrete dependency: who must resolve it, what evidence will show it is resolved, and whether the proposal schedule leaves enough time.

For agents
Establish the bidding entity and resolve registration-readiness dependencies
- Signed-in G2X Directory and CRM access; the legal entity proposed to make the offer; current public SAM identity/status evidence and authorized internal confirmation; the original solicitation and amendments. The entity administrator must handle restricted registration information. Confirm Lumen access and permission to upload any document; no bank, tax or credential material is needed for this public research brief.
Identify the proposed offeror
Ask which legal entity would submit the offer. Search the G2X GovCon Directory by name or UEI using https://g2x.com/docs/understand-market/research-a-company. Match the current official SAM identity; separate affiliates and joint ventures. Record exact identifiers only from source evidence. Do not substitute a parent company registration or infer active status from a capability statement.
Check the official registration evidence
Read https://sam.gov/entity-registration and the current official entity status using https://sam.gov/content/status-tracker or the authorized entity workspace. Distinguish UEI-only, submitted/pending and active registration. Record the observed state, source and retrieval time; a missing or restricted record is unknown. The public guidance requires renewal every 365 days and describes up-to-10-business-day activation timing, not a guaranteed individual date. Prepare questions for an authorized administrator without opening or copying sensitive registration fields.
Read the current solicitation instructions
Locate the opportunity using https://g2x.com/docs/find-work/read-a-sam-opportunity and follow the original SAM notice and attachments. Extract the offeror identity, administrative evidence, representations/certifications and the milestone at which each applies. The article example is DHA HT941026R2001, current notice ab6dec24f9644f1fb765c6261c3a0ebd and Amendment 8; its September 30, 2026 noon PDT deadline has passed. Administrative instructions include SAM registration under NAICS 561110 and no active exclusions. Do not use that example as a new bid or generalize its conditions to every competition.
Prepare the dependency check manually or in Lumen
Compare the actual public status and authorized identity evidence with the original requirement. With confirmed Lumen access, attach only permitted evidence using https://g2x.com/docs/lumen/ask-a-good-question. Illustrative prompt, not an executed demonstration: "Compare the proposed offeror identity and current public registration evidence with this solicitation and its amendments. Cite each administrative condition and when it applies. Separate verified status, internal confirmations we still need and unresolved dependencies. Propose actions for the authorized administrator; do not certify readiness, change SAM or submit an offer." Check cited sections and ask which missing fact changes the proposal schedule. Prepare a sourced CRM action using https://g2x.com/docs/run-a-pipeline/track-an-account; save only with authority and readback.
